Intraoral Massage

What is Intraoral Massage?

Don't let the strange name intimidate you! "Intraoral" simply means “inside the mouth.”

Many of the main muscles responsible for chewing and jaw movement live deep inside your mouth where standard facial massage can't reach. For this treatment, your therapist wears clean, sterile gloves to gently massage these tight areas from the inside. It’s a completely safe, effective way to relieve deep-rooted tension at the source.

Potential Benefits:

Calms TMJ & jaw pain: soothes clicking, popping, and catching in the jaw joint

Symptom relief for teeth grinding & clenching: works on loosening tight muscles caused by stress and nighttime grinding

Relief for tension headaches: eases the painful pressure that spreads from a tight jaw up into your temples and forehead

Improves jaw & facial movement: can aid in chewing, yawning, and smiling if you’ve been feeling limited range of motion or discomfort in these areas

Relief from the discomfort of Dental work: Helps relax head, jaw, and facial muscles after long dental appointments, oral surgery, or orthodontic work

What to Expect During Your Visit

Here is how the session will look:

  • Intake: We start by talking about your areas of discomfot and what you hope to get out of the session.

  • Warm-up: We begin with a relaxing massage on your neck, shoulders, and the outside of your face to prepare for the intraoral work.

  • The Inside Work: Using clean, medical-grade gloves, the interior muscles are gently accessed to apply light, steady pressure to muscles inside the mouth.

  • Open Communication: Check-ins during the session. You’re always in control of the pressure, and it should never feel painfully overwhelming.

Is This Right for You?

If you deal with TMJ discomfort, wake up with a sore jaw, or hold stress in your face, intraoral massage can help.
